Sailing and other water-based sports feature in local activities and the Rosneath Castle Park offers classes and boat hire throughout the summer. On the Peninsula, the Cove Sailing Club provides a focal point for sailors, and around the other side of the Gareloch, the Royal Northern Yacht Club, the Helensburgh Yacht Club, and the Rhu Marina support and foster the sailing community. Each year the Cove Regatta brings sailors from all around the Clyde and further afield to Cove for a weekend of competitive sailing and lively social events. Boats in a number of different classes take part, altogether providing great competition for participants and a fine spectacle for spectators onshore.
