It will not be long now until some of our birds are starting to make their nests in fact the Rooks, Magpies, Crows and blackbirds have already started.

I was lucky enough to observe a pair of Dippers last weekend very close to Mambeg and they did not seem phased that i was observing them.  They are a lovely bird and very similar to the robin apart from being a little bigger with darker feathers and a white breast instead of red and you will see them swimming in the river or stream looking for food, they will also sit on a rock on the stream while they dry themsleves, its cool to watch.

Remember, if you want to have birds nesting in your garden this year then get your bird boxes up now as they are looking for a home already, make sure that if you have more than one bird box that you do not place them too close together in order to give them a little privacy.

Let me know how you all get on and especially how many of you have birds nesting in your gardens.
